Posting guidelines
The Precedent A-List welcomes a wide range of lawyer jobs and career announcements
The mandate of The Precedent A-List is to share timely and relevant job opportunities and career announcements for Canadian lawyers. When posting on The A-List, please refer to the guidelines below.
Lawyer jobs
Users can post any job opportunity that seeks candidates who are qualified lawyers. Postings for articling students, paralegals and other legal support staff will not be accepted. However, the website will accept job posts in which a law degree would be helpful but is not mandatory.
The A-List will reject attempts to advertise multiple jobs in a single post.
Career announcements
The Precedent A-List is a perfect place for legal organizations to highlight a practising lawyer’s individual achievement or advancement in the profession. That includes:
- New associates
- New partners
- Lateral hires
- New managing partners
- Industry awards
- Certified specialist achievements
Note: Announcements are for individual lawyers only. If an announcement pertains to more than one lawyer, please split the notice into individual posts.
The A-List is also a great place to celebrate the achievements of a law firm, corporation or legal team.
That includes:
- The launch or introduction of a new product or service (the relaunch of an existing product or service will not be accepted)
- The founding of a new firm or firm merger
- Law firm expansions and new offices
- Firm-wide awards
Note: Any firm announcement that is perceived as advertising in nature (such as the promotion of an event, seminar or physical good) will not be accepted.
