Savards LLP welcomes new partner Janani Shanmuganathan

Savards LLP is pleased to welcome Janani Shanmuganathan to the firm’s partnership.

Janani practices criminal, constitutional and regulatory law. She has represented clients charged with a broad array of offences including first-degree murder, fraud, drugs, and sexual assault allegations involving multiple complainants. She routinely argues appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal and has argued at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. In addition to criminal law, Janani does regulatory work defending professionals subject to investigations and disciplinary proceedings, and acts as independent legal counsel to a professional regulator.
