Rebecca Valo Joins Cassels Brock

Cassels Brock is pleased to announce that Rebecca Valo has joined the firm as an associate our Business Law Group. Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Rebecca worked as both a summer student and an articling student at the firm. During this time, she gained experience working on various matters and transactions within the Business Law, Advocacy, and Financial Services practice groups.

Rebecca’s experience within the Business Law Group includes conducting legal research on intellectual property, entertainment, franchise law, and general corporate law matters, assisting with asset and share purchase transactions, drafting a variety of commercial documents, and drafting agreements and other materials related to the entertainment industry, intellectual property issues, and franchise law. Rebecca also co-authored a paper on copyright, entertainment and media law jurisprudence, which was presented at the Entertainment and Media Law Symposium in Toronto.

While in law school at the University of Toronto, Rebecca was a volunteer caseworker in the children’s rights division of Downtown Legal Services and was a volunteer for Law in Action Within Schools, an educational program for Toronto high school students. Rebecca also chaired the university’s Orientation Week for incoming law students, and was an associate editor for the Journal of International Law and International Relations.
