WeirFoulds congratulates Ian Mitchell on receiving a 2015 Lexpert® Rising Star Award. This award honours Canada’s leading lawyers under 40 from law firms and in-house, paying tribute to those in the legal profession who have an exceptional record of success, community leadership and contributions to their firm or company’s achievements.

A partner with our Corporate Law Practice Group, Ian focuses on corporate finance and securities, particularly transactions and advice involving public and large private companies. Ian has accumulated significant experience advising clients on complicated international transactions. Recent jurisdictions include, among others, Brazil, the US, the UK and Nigeria.

As co-chair of the firm’s United Way Committee for the past four years, Ian’s efforts have increased both awareness of community issues and contributions raised at the firm each year. Ian is also a member of, and recruiter for, the Young Patrons Circle at the Royal Ontario Museum.
