Hicks Morley is pleased to announce that Owais Hashmi has joined the firm’s Toronto office as a knowledge management lawyer. In this role, Owais will work alongside the firm’s client services team to enhance client experiences by leveraging the firm’s legal technology and strategic insights to improve the efficiency and delivery of legal services.

As a firm dedicated to developing and maintaining best-in-class knowledge and learning systems, Owais’ addition to the Hicks Morley team benefits both the firm’s clients and lawyers alike by bolstering the firm’s subject-matter expertise to ensure Hicks Morley remains at the forefront of labour and employment law in Canada.

Owais specializes in the systematic collection, organization and dissemination of legal knowledge. He supports the firm’s clients and lawyers by diligently monitoring case law and tribunal decisions, providing timely updates on current and emerging legislative developments and developing informative training sessions. He is particularly focused on the responsible use and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies.

Prior to joining Hicks Morley, Owais completed his articles at a mid-sized, full-service law firm in Toronto where he gained considerable experience drafting legal memoranda and analyzing complex legal issues.
