Mark Bowman is an associate in the Business Law section of Fasken Martineau’s Toronto office. He has a broad corporate/commercial practice with an emphasis on technology. Mark is an experienced Software Engineer and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Ontario’s Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designations.
Mark has experience with information technology, consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property-related legal matters. Mark has assisted with outsourcing, procurement, licensing, privacy, and e-commerce transactions. He has experience drafting a variety of agreements, including procurement documents, purchasing terms and conditions, software agreements, software source code licenses, e-commerce and website terms and conditions, and privacy agreements. Mark also has experience with responding to freedom of information requests.
Outside of the technology area, Mark has been involved in a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, going-public transactions, and financings.
Mark is an entrepreneur, an avid coder, and an active and supportive member and promoter of Toronto’s start-up community. Mark is involved in the firm’s Start-Up & Entrepreneurial Services initiative, working and supporting start-ups, early stage companies, and entrepreneurs.
