James regularly advises clients on various corporate matters focusing on the sale and acquisition of businesses across a wide array of industries including agriculture, manufacturing, transport and healthcare.

In addition to his legal acumen, James has a passion for corporate finance, currently completing Level 3 of the CFA program. This combined skillset provides James with a unique ability to analyze a transaction above and beyond that of your typical M&A lawyer.

Prior to joining Loopstra Nixon, James was an M&A / Securities Partner at a national law firm where he practiced for 12 years.

Outside of his practice of law, James is a founding member of Sustainable Equity Partners Ltd., a development company focused on the development of affordable multi-family housing across Canada.
