Junior Prosecutor

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The FP Canada Standards Council™ is looking for a Junior Prosecutor to join the enforcement team 3 or 4 days per week. The Junior Prosecutor will primarily support the Director, Professional Conduct and Enforcement in overseeing professional conduct investigations and in the prosecution of discipline hearings. The Junior Prosecutor will also assist with special projects and tasks relating to complaint intake, trademark oversight and the development and maintenance of financial planning standards to support FP Canada’s strategic priorities.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• A law degree in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Between 1 to 3 years of litigation experience, preferably gained in a regulatory environment or with a professional oversight body.
• Familiarity with the financial services industry, securities, insurance, tax, investments, estate or other financial planning related matters are assets.
• Clear, concise and articulate research, analytical and communication skills (written and oral).
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

 SALARY/BENEFITS:

• Generous benefits package
• Salary based on experience and days worked, ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 plus potential bonus based on meeting personal performance objectives.
