 York University is seeking a collaborative corporate/commercial lawyer to join its team as Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel. The successful candidate will work across a wide array of commercial matters and will provide strategic advice to departments across the University. This role will suit a results-oriented lawyer with the desire to work in an environment rich with variety and challenge who can effectively manage several projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience drafting and negotiating a broad variety of commercial contracts and, ideally, experience advising clients in the charitable, educational or broader public sector. Exposure to IP and privacy matters would be an asset. This is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate with excellent practical judgement and a diplomatic manner to join a highly collegial team.
