Graeme is a Patent Agent who specializes in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences, including personalized medicine and antibody technologies. He counsels clients on patenting strategies and assists with managing international portfolios.
Graeme also assists clients with Plant Breeders’ Rights (PBR) applications. He is an amateur plant breeder and recently developed a new Passiflora variety, ‘Pole Star,’ for which a PBR registration is pending.
Prior to joining BLG, Graeme conducted his doctoral research at The Hospital for Sick Children. This culminated in the discovery of the human gene that is mutated in Shwachman-Diamond syndrome. He then worked a post-doctoral researcher at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, focusing on protein engineering.
