Our Organization

The Ontario Bar Association is a volunteer association for Lawyers and those in the legal community and our focus is to promote advocacy and provide professional development, amongst other things to our valued members.

Position Summary

The Professional Development Lawyer is responsible for developing and marketing relevant and practical Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programming in a broad range of substantive and procedural areas, operating in accordance with Ontario Bar Association (OBA) policies and procedures and with regard to OBA’s budget and strategic plan. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of CPD, Director of Sections and with lawyers, judges and academics to assess market needs, conceive and draft programs and curricula, select program chairs and speakers, and develop program content; and with CPD staff to ensure appropriate marketing, program coordination and quality control. This position reports directly to the Director of CPD.
