Bennett Jones congratulates new partner David McKinnon

Bennett Jones is pleased to welcome David R. McKinnon to the partnership.

David’s commercial litigation practice focuses on the resolution of energy, franchise, and shareholder disputes. He regularly appears as counsel before all levels of courts in Alberta, and in international and domestic arbitration proceedings held under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, and the Canadian Arbitration Association. David also represents medical professionals sued for malpractice or facing professional disciplinary matters.

David has been an invited speaker to the Canadian Bar Association, Health Law Section, on the topic of damages in medical malpractice claims. While in law school, he oversaw a student legal assistance office in Banff and earned the Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Aboriginal Law (2007), an Alberta Law Foundation Bursary (2006), and several awards for advocacy.

David is an active volunteer in the community and serves on the board of a non-profit organization.
