Tasha De Freitas joins Torys LLP

Torys is pleased to welcome Tasha De Freitas to the firm.

Tasha De Freitas’ practice focuses on intellectual property matters with an emphasis on the acquisition and protection of patents. In addition to a law degree, Tasha has an engineering degree (aerospace) from Carleton University.

Tasha has experience advising on patentability, validity and infringement, conducting prior art searches, patent drafting and patent prosecution. She has prepared intellectual property agreements, including non-disclosure and service agreements. Tasha has in-depth knowledge in the areas of mobile devices, medical imaging software, optics, aerospace, automotive and manufacturing systems. She has worked with a variety of clients, from sole inventors to large companies, to develop and implement strategies for the protection of intellectual property in Canada, the United States and globally.
