Matrix North American Construction, Inc. and Matrix North American Construction, Ltd. (MNAC) are the union construction companies of Matrix Service Company (NASDAQ: MTRX) working in the United States and Canada.  MNAC is a premier union industrial construction organization providing procurement, construction, maintenance and repair services to the North American energy, power and industrial markets.  MNAC has a long-standing reputation for excellence across a host of services including large capital construction, oil and gas storage, power generation, power delivery, integrated iron and steel and refinery and petrochemical work.  The company is headquartered in Chicago, IL with major business streams and divisions in Canonsburg, PA, Eddystone, PA, Hammond, IN, and Burlington, ON. 

One of MNAC’s most significant current projects is the construction of the Napanee Generating Station (the “Project”) located in Napanee, ON.  MNAC is currently seeking a commercial lawyer for its subsidiary, Matrix North American Construction, Ltd., as Director, Commercial to work out of the Burlington, ON office.  This position, while out of the Burlington office, will require regular travel to the Project and other locations as necessary.

Reporting directly to the Vice-President, Commercial & Legal, the successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial and legal management of the Project.  Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:  support the negotiation, review and management of contracts and subcontracts; manage contract related issues, change orders, correspondence and dispute resolution; compliance; and assisting with a broad range of other legal and commercial issues as required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant commercial experience with a focus on construction or engineering projects.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a demonstrated ability to communicate within all levels of an organization, and a flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of contractual matters are essential.  If you have the requisite skill set, please contact in complete confidence, Adam Lepofsky or Whitney Borins (both Canadian qualified lawyers) at RainMaker Group.
