Mid-Level Corporate Lawyer (One Year Contract)

Our client is one of Canada’s largest engineering and consulting firms. With offices across Canada, the U.S. and internationally, and with projects around the globe, they offer both private and public sector clients a full range of technical services for building, energy, infrastructure and sustainability projects.

Our client is seeking to add a mid-level corporate lawyer to join their team for a

one year contract. Working from the company’s head office in Brampton, Ontario, the successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and work closely with other members of the legal team. Responsibilities will include:

  • supporting the General Counsel and Secretary in providing advice to the Board of Directors and senior management on corporate governance and compliance issues affecting the business;
  • directing and supporting outside counsel on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings and corporate reorganization transactions;
  • working with the management team to draft, implement and oversee various corporate policies and compliance programs;
  • advising on shareholder matters, organizing shareholder meetings and preparing shareholder communications;
  • advising on commercial leasing and real estate matters; and
  • advising on intellectual property and marketing matters including trademark registration.

Our client is seeking a results-oriented lawyer with 3-6 years of experience in corporate/commercial law from a leading law firm or in-house environment. The role requires someone who is a self starter, team player and capable of operating with minimal supervision. Confidence acting in front of the company’s most senior executives is also crucial.

If you have the requisite experience, please contact in complete confidence either Anne Feehely or Adam Lepofsky (both Canadian qualified lawyers) at RainMaker Group.
