The Town of Oakville is a dynamic Ontario municipality dedicated to providing the highest quality service to the community. The town is seeking a talented land use planning and municipal lawyer to join its in house legal department to focus primarily on land use planning matters.

Reporting to the Town Solicitor, the ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of experience in all aspects of land use planning, including extensive experience in front of the Ontario Municipal Board. Other duties include providing oral and written legal opinions, preparing and reviewing reports, attending Council meetings and providing advice to Council, negotiating and drafting legal documents and by-laws, instructing outside counsel and representing the town in litigation before courts and administrative tribunals.

The successful candidate will be versatile, innovative, analytical and strategic with demonstrated interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills. The ability to work both independently and in multi-discipline teams is a must.
