Advocacy KM Lawyer

Looking for an opportunity to leverage your legal skills in a different way? Osler is looking for a Knowledge Management lawyer to support the Litigation and Competition departments in our Toronto office. The associate will have overall responsibility for the creation and management of practice resources and tools necessary to enable lawyers in these groups to work efficiently, develop and share expertise, provide excellent client service, and engage in business development.
Depending on the needs and priorities of each of the departments, the areas of focus for KM are:
- access to practice resources (model precedents/best practices, know how/reusable work product, accessibility of practice resources);
- matter management and practice efficiency;
- current awareness;
- supporting business development; and
- professional development.
The successful candidate will have:
- a solid legal background in an advocacy related practice area with four to five years of practice with a large law firm;
- commercial awareness;
- excellent drafting and research skills;
- strong organizational and communication skills;
- strong delegation and supervisory skills;
- project management skills;
- strong interpersonal skills;
- self-confidence, be self-motivated and a team worker; and
- a comfort with technology.
