The leadership team
Meet the company’s Toronto-based leadership
Melissa Kluger
Founder and CEO
Melissa Kluger is the founder and CEO of Law and Style Media Inc., an independent, Toronto-based media company that publishes The Precedent A-List and Precedent Magazine.
After Kluger graduated from law school at the University of Toronto, in 2001, she articled on Bay Street and then practised in media law at a small firm. In 2007, she created Precedent Magazine, a career and lifestyle publication for lawyers. Under Kluger’s leadership, Precedent has won a range of industry awards, including Best Magazine at the National Magazine Awards (B2B)—the country’s highest honour in the world of trade media.
In 2010, Kluger launched The Precedent A-List to provide legal organizations with an effective and affordable way to advertise job opportunities and share announcements. Combining her editorial expertise and digital savvy, she has built The A-List into a popular platform that serves both its clients and its target audience.
Kluger is also a recipient, in 2025, of the Law Society Medal, which recognizes lawyers in Ontario “who have made a significant contribution to the profession.” In its formal announcement, the Law Society of Ontario noted that Kluger “has filled a journalistic void in Ontario’s legal world and has done so with professionalism and integrity.”
