Bindu Dhaliwal receives 2015 SABA Legal Award

The South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of Toronto is proud to announce that Bindu Dhaliwal is a recipient of the 2015 SABA Legal Award.

The South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of Toronto is proud to announce that Bindu Dhaliwal is a recipient of the 2015 SABA Legal Award.

Bindu Dhaliwal is Associate General Counsel & Director, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for BMO. Bindu was also the founding chair of BMO’s Legal & Compliance Diversity Council. Bindu is a frequent speaker on sustainability trends in the financial services sector, social finance and diversity in the legal profession. Bindu has been a longstanding community leader and advocate for diversity and equity issues. She currently sits on the board of two not for profit organizations and has co-authored educational tools on gender equity. For these and other efforts Bindu has received the Governor General’s Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case.

The Legal Excellence Awards are presented to members of the Ontario legal profession in recognition of their outstanding dedication, creativity, initiative, achievement and contribution to the community, profession, legal scholarship and pro bono activities.

South Asian Bar Association of Toronto

The South Asian Bar Association of Toronto is dedicated to promoting the objectives of South Asian members of the legal profession. Members of SABA include lawyers that self-identify as South Asian or are of South Asian origin, and lawyers that advocate on issues of relevance to the South Asian community. Our membership is dynamic, ever-expanding and includes lawyers from large and small law firms, sole practitioners, government agencies and departments, non-profit organizations, and corporations. Members of the judiciary, academics and law students also form an integral part of SABA. We are part of the North American South Asian Bar Association.
